Autobiography of a Flea - 1976

The first porn movie that I remember seeing in a theater was the amazing Autobiography of a Flea. I had seen a few other flicks, including a ton of softcore and the impressive John Holmes playing a sailor who thoroughly wore out a set of twins. But the first feature that I recall watching from beginning to end was this well-known hit starring Jean Jennings, Paul Thomas, Annette Haven, John Leslie and a host of others.


The story is taken from an anonymous piece of Victorian Porn which is "written" by a flea living in the tender regions of a beautiful young lady who has a number of sexual adventures that the flea recounts for us. The young lady in question is the teenaged Belle, played by Jean Jennings.

Little Belle is caught in the act with her young lover by the local priest, played all too well by Paul Thomas. She is afraid that she will be punished for her sin, but Father Paul has other ideas and confers upon tender Belle the honor of tending to the carnal needs of the local monastery.

She is only too willing to comply and winds up satisfying the brethren, including John Holmes and his impressive member. Belle is happy with the attention she is getting, but things quickly take a darker, kinkier turn. In fact, it doesn't take long before we find that behind all that Victorian prudeness there were some very kinky people.

I won't spoil the plot here, because this movie --like most 70's porn movies -- was very heavy on plot. Yep, porn with a story. Back in the day, that was normal. The story brought us from one sex scene to another. Those who only know today's porn are often surprised by the idea of a lead up to sex in these movies. Think of it as sexual tension, or foreplay if you will. By the time we watch a woman shed her clothes we were eager to see it. And the hardcore was the payoff for our patience. Plus, the story made these people a lot more interesting and let us see many of our fantasies unfold on the big screen.

This was not only my first porn movie of record, it was also the first time I saw the stunning Annette Haven. It certainly wasn't the last.
